30 Day Blogging Challenge: Day 1

Howdy & Welcome to Day 1 of the ‘Spiritual Badass 30 Day Blog Challenge

So what do I do?

I am a business coach & strategist committed to helping women entrepreneurs reinvent their businesses to move past too much to do, make great money and be able to spend more time with their family.

I love cheering my clients on. We are in it to win it!

Well, there are many reasons. Everything from I understand what it means to be a mother to young children and an entrepreneur. Because I have worked myself to death working 80 hour weeks and choose to no longer do so.

But perhaps the biggest reason is family. I have a passion to save families by helping women have successful businesses. My WHY actually started when I was 12. When my parents had started their second business, a beauty supply business. And I remember it started off as being great. We had money to do all of the things others had money to do.

Me & my family when I was 10, about to be 11. This was before my youngest sister, Grace was born.

But then, their account embezzled sales tax money from the business and everything turned dark. Very dark. In fact, I look at that moment of time as both a brief moment of light and the beginning of a dark journey for 6 years of my life.

Without much detail, that moment in time, when my parent’s where in business represented the fall of our family unit. It would be years before my parents divorced and life took a different slant. But that’s the real reason behind why I do what I do.

I’m here to save and grow businesses so that I can help you save and foster your family.

Who is my family?

That pretty much sums up our kind of crazy!

My family is good sized, but in my house includes myself, my husband Ed (going on 15 years of marriage), my two sons; E & C; my mom and two cats (Sam & Tessa), one dog (Bailey), two Bettas (Perseus and Shadow Zeus) and 2 African Pygmy frogs (Jumper and Skipper).

We spend a lot of time together, traveling, cooking, sports. We love the theater, music and going to the movies. Right now, we are trying to decide where our next trip should be – current options include Ireland, Tahiti or Australia.

Why did you sign up for the blog challenge, and what are your intentions?

I signed up for the blog challenge because
– I know the value of consistent blogging
– I have a goal to drive more traffic to Your Biz Rules to spread the message
– Because I am a badass (chuckle)
– I wanted to see if I can do it.

What are your goals?

So we already post 3-4 days a week, so this will add another 3 days or so to the rotation. My goal is to be consistent, to give value, to share more of who I am, to engage with new friends, clients and partners.

So there you go – Day 1.

Hi Leslie, so nice to meet you! I love your post, it’s really colorful and it’s nice to get to know about your life. I am also doing the challenge and I also chose to introduce myself today. I know the value of consistent blogging as well. I usually blog every other week, but am using this challenge as a way to get in the habit of writing more consistently. I look forward to reading more of your posts ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks Kelly! It is different to commit to writing everyday. And I’ve really been working on sharing more of who I am this year.

I love the pictures of your family and who you are! I’m going to steal your reasons for doing the challenge because those are exactly mine!

I’ve seen other blog challenges before but didn’t like the way they were structured, and love how this one works. I was blogging weekly, so pumping up to daily will be interesting! My goal is to actually do all 30 days ๐Ÿ™‚ Will be interesting. And fun!

Hi Leslie, Never have managed to get into a consistent routine with blogging. I’m aiming for thirty days..but I have a lot on my plate this month so I’ll be satisfied (and thrilled) with 20 posts. One of my major reasons for signing up for this challenge is to support me in developing a consistent blogging habit. Seems like it takes me way longer than it should to compose and publish a post. Hoping to learn a trick or two along the way to streamline my efforts. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know you, your lovely family, and your reasons for doing what you do. Oh and I positively LOVE your badass graphic…It’s perfect!

Jan – Thanks for stopping by! I’ve been blogging for 7 years – and it still seems to take me an hour or so a post. It is definitely a commitment. For my previous business, I blogged 5 days a week and it always seemed to be a struggle or a chore. So far with Your Biz Rules, it has been pretty easy. But I also found that it helps to have some lighter content days out there to balance when you are creating the deep value content. Good luck – happy to be on the journey with you!

Hi Leslie, nice to meet another badass. I love the animal pics and the pics of your kids. You have a very diverse human to animal population in your house. ๐Ÿ™‚
